NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The New York Knicks scratched reserve center Eddy Curry from the lineup before tipping off against the New Orleans Hornets on Monday night.
Curry missed the Knicks' previous game on Saturday night in Houston with a sore right knee. Team officials initially said Curry's left knee was bothering him before the game against the Hornets, but after tipoff clarified that Curry's ongoing soreness in his right knee, which has sidelined him most of the season, was the reason he wasn't playing.Curry, who is 6 feet 11, has played in only one game this season on Jan. 8, scoring two points in three minutes. After playing in New York's final preseason game, he missed the Knicks' first 33 regular-season games with a right knee injury.
Curry is in his fourth season with the Knicks. He averaged 13.2 points and 4.7 rebounds last season.
