Knicks set present MSG record with 82-point half
NEW YORK (AP) - The New York Knicks set a record for first-half points at the present Madison Square Garden to take an 82-64 lead over Golden State on Saturday night.

David Lee scored 20 points for the Knicks, who made 33 of 54 shots (61 percent) in the first 24 minutes. His basket with 3.4 seconds left allowed New York to surpass the 81 points scored by Kansas City on Dec. 8, 1979.

The Knicks, who used just seven players, fell two points shy of their post-shot clock franchise record for a first half, set when they scored 84 against Philadelphia on Nov. 18, 1988.

The Knicks played their first game at the present Madison Square Garden, known as "Garden IV," in February 1968.
