New York Knicks Getting Inside 2008-11-16
There was no progress reported, but Stephon Marbury did at least meet with Knicks president Donnie Walsh this week.

It is unclear whether a buyout was discussed when they visited on Thursday. Marbury has not played a single minute this season, and has not been in uniform since the opener. He's not willing to offer a discount on the salary the Knicks are obligated to pay him for this season, the last on his contract. Walsh doesn't believe in buyouts. He's not having any luck finding a trade partner, either.

It's clear this game of cat and mouse will continue indefinitely.

"There's nothing going on, man," Marbury said before Friday's game against Oklahoma City. "There's nothing going on but a humbling experience."

Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni sees no point in utilizing a player who is not part of the organization's future. Hes not ruled out playing the controversial point guard, although it seems Marbury is now a last resort.

Marbury is due to make $21.9 million this season, and he apparently wants every dime.

"Would you accept anything less if somebody owed you money?" Marbury asked. "If I owed you $100, and I said to you I don't want to give you $100, I want to give you $80, what would you say?"

So far, Walsh is avoiding the public conversation.

"I'm not going to make any comment about the Stephon Marbury situation," Walsh said. "I said that about a week ago and I haven't said anything to anybody since then."

KNICKS 116, THUNDER 106: The way things were going, it should have ended shortly after halftime when Zach Randolph put the Knicks in front by 30 just four minutes into the second half. Naturally, it didn't. The monumental lead was cut down to seven points before everyone settled down.

"It's human nature to celebrate a little early," Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni said. "We didn't run out of energy physically, I think mentally we got a little happy."

Zach Randolph picked up 29 points and 19 rebounds for the Knicks, and Jamal Crawford added 29 points and seven assists. David Lee and Nate Robinson combined for 33 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.
