New York Knicks Notes, Quotes 2008-09-05
--Mike D'Antoni posed with Team USA's gold medals around his neck in Beijing, then headed back home to begin preparing for the upcoming season. The newest coaching hire may not have much to do right now, since only a small contingent of players is using the practice facility with any regularity.

--After deciding the hold training camp a little closer to home, the Knicks officially announced they will be heading north to Saratoga Springs and work out at Skidmore College. The first double session will be held Sept. 30.

--Knicks legend Patrick Ewing was set to be inducted on Sept. 5 into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, and was expected to bring a number of former coaches and teammates along for the moment. He didn't have to ask Pat Riley twice. The Miami Heat president is also in this year's class.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "I think he's got a long list of players that want to play for him, I'll tell you that. He's just incredibly sharp. He's a brilliant, brilliant basketball mind. He's going to bring a system and now you just have to find players to plug into that system." -- Kobe Bryant, telling the New York Post during the Olympics that Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni has a lot of fans in uniform around the league.
