--Just in case there's a roster opening, Patrick Ewing Jr. is
hanging around. The former Georgetown standout was going to consider opportunities to play in Europe or the NBA Development League after he
was cut by the Knicks last month, but he's still available. Ewing was
at last week's game against Oklahoma City to visit college teammate
Jeff Green, and was at the MSG Training Center working out last weekend.
--According to the New York Post, a Players Association lawyer
representing Stephon Marbury is ready to resume buyout negotiations
with Knicks president Donnie Walsh this week. It's possible the
controversial point guard will not hold out for every dime. He wants
to play, but is not going to listen to offers until a settlement is
reached.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "As long as we continue to move in the right
direction, win or lose, we're excited about our progress." --Knicks
guard Chris Duhon, on the sense of satisfaction that is coming from
recent losses to Dallas and Boston.
