New York Knicks Notes, Quotes 2009-11-06

New York Knicks Notes, Quotes 2009-11-06--As several rookies have had impressive starts to their NBA careers, the Knicks' No. 8 overall pick, Jordan Hill, remains buried on the bench behind a veteran frontcourt. Hill saw garbage time action in the season-opening loss to the Heat, but since then has remained in his warm-ups. He's also wearing a project label that no lottery pick should ever want to sport.

Mike D'Antoni said that the 6-10 Hill's place on the bench is a result of having veterans such as David Lee, Al Harrington, Darko Milicic and Jared Jeffries in the rotation.

"I like him, I think his potential is there," D'Antoni said, "but he has not convinced me that he's better than those guys right now."

--F Danilo Gallinari had an extremely quiet night, as his shooting touch clearly seems to come and go. Gallinari had 11 points and made just five-of-13 from the floor, including only one-for-five from three-point range. Gallinari did manage to keep his streak of hitting at least one three in all five games this season. One issue with Gallinari's game is his penchant for disappearing in spurts throughout games. Caoch Mike D'Antoni actually took him off the court for most of the fourth quarter, despite the need for some instant offense.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "It seems every time we get stuck or whatever, instead of having a little bit more determination or patience, we just jack (it) up." -- Mike D'Antoni, on his team's offensive struggles.
