New York Knicks Notes, Quotes 2009-11-21

New York Knicks Notes, Quotes 2009-11-21--C Eddy Curry made his season debut and had an immediate impact with 10 points and four rebounds in 11:44. The trimmed-down Curry, who returned to practice last week after a month-long fitness exile, showed a soft touch around the basket and made a difference with his size on the low post.

Coach Mike D'Antoni called several plays for the 7-footer, who had a plus-10 rating during his time on the floor.

"He should get better from here, and we'll learn how to use him better," D'Antoni said. "But he's going to make a difference."

Curry played with both of his parents in attendance. Neither had seen him since the offseason.

"My mom saw me the other day for the first time since the summertime and she was going crazy," Curry said of his noticeable physical transformation, which includes some 50 pounds of weight loss since last season.

--F David Lee had an extra spring in his step and it may be because the presence of Curry will likely lead to him finally moving back to his natural position at power forward. Lee had 17 points against the Pacers, including four dunks -- three of which came over 7-2 center Roy Hibbert.

His defense -- or lack thereof -- at the five spot has been so weak opposing teams have made it a point to attack him regularly. D'Antoni admitted it is a problem he has to address and likely will with Curry now back in the lineup.

"Yeah, that's a concern," D'Antoni said. "And if it works out, we'll see. I'm definitely going to use it if Eddy's playing well."

QUOTE TO NOTE: "The biggest part about tonight is we played like a team. It wasn't the same team I saw when I was sitting watching from home." -- C Eddy Curry on the win.
