New York Knicks Notes, Quotes 2009-02-11
--Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni and several players were upset when they learned of the criticism leveled on air by ABC commentator Jeff Van Gundy on Sunday. The former Knicks coach warned management needed to be wary of the positive nature of David Lee after losses to the Lakers, Cavaliers and Celtics. The politically correct forward called it the best 0-3 stretch of his career. "He should know," Van Gundy said. "He's had plenty of them." Lee says he was just staying positive in the media, and was truly disappointed.

--Apparently, the fans simply got caught up in the moment. With three minutes to go in the first half, the Golden State faithful were actually chanting, "De-fense. De-fense." It was a nice sentiment. The Warriors give up 110.9 points a game, which ranks last in the league, and the Knicks aren't much better, giving up 106.6 points a game. And the score at that point? Golden State was up 56-55.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "I'm having fun. These fans know I played hard for them. They know they really love me. It's all good." --Knicks forward Al Harrington, to the MSG Network, explaining that he was just playing with the Golden State fans, returning the boos they sent in his direction.
