New York Knicks Roster Report 2009-09-19

New York Knicks Roster Report 2009-09-19PLAYER NEWS:

--G Nate Robinson and his longtime girlfriend, Sheena Felitz, celebrated the birth of the couple's third child and first daughter. Robinson, a restricted free agent, remained unsigned through most of the offseason but told the Knicks he had no intention of seeking an offer sheet or sign-and-trade from another team and his plan was to stay in New York. He will be an unrestricted free agent next summer.

--The Knicks have yet to officially waive G Cuttino Mobley, who retired last season because of a heart ailment. His $9.5 million salary continues to count against the salary cap and, unless the team plans to use it in a trade (a la Keith van Horn), it is likely he will be waived to save on luxury tax payments.

--Did you know that G Joe Crawford is the older brother of Xavier guard Jordan Crawford, who was the college player who famously dunked on LeBron James in a scrimmage at James' camp this summer?

DRAFT PICKS:

Jordan Hill, PF, 6-10, Arizona (first round, 8th overall) -- An athletic big with a good perimeter touch. Mike D'Antoni sees similarities to a young Amare Stoudemire.

Toney Douglas, PG, 6-1, Florida State (first round, 29th overall) -- Tough as nails two-way guard who fills a key third-guard role, especially if Nate Robinson is let go.
