"oh fuck," i said, leaning my elbow against the wall, holding my head. "im really sorry! i didnt mean it! i was just angry," she said. i nodded, telling myself it would be ok. "they didnt...put it on the papers or anything did they?" i asked, stuttering. she bit her lip and nodded. "do you have one?" i asked. "yes. i took yours from your porch this morning. i felt bad," she explained, getting a newspaper out of her bag. she held up the paper. i seen the headline: 'Nicks gf is a back-stabbing b*tch' says inside source. i took it from her, reading the rest of the article. 'yes, the rumours are true. nick jonas is in fact dating a small town girl, called Selena Gomez. we went to her town, where jonas was originally from, and caught up with a student from her school who told us 'well, her name is Selena Gomez. she's in New York with him right now.' we asked her what Selena was like and the student said 'shes a back-stabbing b*tch. im pretty sure nick is just using her for publicity and sex.' not the kind of girl you expected nick to date huh?' i folded the paper, giving it back to her. "i really am sorry," she said, taking it from me. i tried to stay calm. "nick is going to be so mad over this, demi!" i said. "sorry sel! i'll do whatever you want, just please forgive me!" she said. i nodded, thinking about it. i smiled when an idea came to mind. "fine. withdraw that comment," i said, smiling.
demi and i mitched that day, going to the mall instead. of course, our lovely "friends" with cameras followed us there, asking why we were mitching and stuff but we didnt say anything about that. Demi said "oh, and can i say something?" and she glanced at me, as they got their recorder things ready. "the statement i made yesterday was all lies. Selena is not a back-stabbing bitch. shes an amazing person, honestly, and i dont know why i ever said that," she said. aww, shes so sweet. i hugged her from the side.
we were about to go into Forever 21 when my cell phone rang. i looked at it, taking a deep breath, thinking it would be nick and i was surprised when joes name came up. "its joe," i muttered to demi. "hello?" i said, answering the phone. "hey sel," i heard nick say, his voice just audible. "nick? whats going on?" i asked, confused. "dad took my phone when he seen the paper. im using joes phone. if he comes in, you have to pretend your demi ok? dads really mad sel," he said quickly. "what? he cant do that!" i said, surprised. "he did. he says i cant talk to you again, and that i have to break up with you." my jaw dropped. "y-you're not going to listen to him are you?" i asked, worried.
